First in AGES.

So I got back from an amazing summer. It was wild. I am now trying to find a job and apartment in NYC by November 1st. I've been applying and touring like crazy, I GOTTA GET IN. So anyway I've been drawing these mock textiles. Here are a few for you to looookkk at. Enjoy!

 Earthworms!
GAH!

It's nice to be back.

Little ones.

I ran out of big paper ya'lll!! And I am not spending any money, or starting anything big before I leave for my summer jobs and excursions. I know, these seem petty excuses, but alas, I'm broke and distracted. I have one large(ish) drawing in progress, which I hope to complete before I depart in my journeys. Otherwise I am making lots of small stuff! Here are but two.

They inhabit two separate veins of my style. One more detailed, exact and textile like. The other more open and simple, yet not without a sense of complexity.

Digitally Remastered Fire - 14"x11" - Pen and marker on paper.

 Hi there detail.

 And you too.

With Plastic - 14"x11" - Spray paint, aluminum foil, and shredded poster board on paper.

Words of wisdom drawing.

I have made 3 of these words of wisdom drawings. They are physical representations of television's absurdity. This is the first!

This Is Real - 56"x46" - Marker, gouache, spray paint and glitter on paper.

 Detail numbah one!

  And a two.

So I found these....

I was cleaning out a bunch of things today and I found an oldish sketchbook in my things that has some pretttyyy interesting stuff in it. I will not show you the writing (I was not coherent when I wrote most of it). But you may see some of the awkward drawings I used to make (3 years ago). Maybe I should start doing them again. HMM!

Human eating plants that can fly!

If this happens to you. Call 911.

Ohhhh gurrrl, that nail polish matches yo shoes. GET IT!

 PARK YO HAIR!

 I really couldn't tell you.

Now this is moving more towards my current style.

And now for some shots of this thang I'm going to try installing at Ritual (a cool store in New Paltz) tomorrow.

Its the long thing. I want it to go up a wall and wrap onto the ceiling. Then it will have individual petri dishes spread across the ceiling? Who knows!
They are filled with shredded poster board.

Oh and I'm working on this drawing.

Sorry if this post was too ADD for you. :)

These are new.

I finished two smaller drawings in the past couple weeks. They, like most of my smaller drawings, depict inventions of the future. The inventions I create are absurd and often virtually unnecessary for human survival. They allude to and parody the unnecessary objects, devices and products that exist in modern, present day society.

Genetically Modified Carrot Vine - 14"x11" - Archival marker and pen on paper.

Ruby Fabricator - 14"x11" - Archival marker and pen on paper.

Well, well, well.

So this guy (drawing) took a longggggg time to make. I keep creating more and more complex pieces. Soooo if I continue on this trend, it will soon take me 8.23 years to make a new drawing. YAY!

A House To Hoard In - 44"x30" - Archival marker, pen, acrylic, spray paint, and aluminum foil on paper.

A detail of the frame and house.

 Another fine detail.

 Windows for DAYS!

Zee smoke.

My hands are race horses!

They runnin' all over da paper! But really, I am on a pretty swell roll. This is another drawing in a the same vein as the one in the previous post. Also, thinking about it recently, these don't feel like drawings to me. I don't know what to call them.

Infected Silhouette - 44"x30" - Pen, india ink, gouache, and shredded poster board on paper.

 Detail!
 Bedhead
 and loonnggg legs!

I am so sorry y'all.

It has been ages since I have posted anything. It's been a weird month and a half. I have been making a lot of work but it's taking so long to finish things. Plus I have been in doctor city, apparently I have a hiatal hernia which causes sadness in my stomach and esophagus. I am also planning my supedupes busy summer! I know these are all excuses and I doubt you wanna hear them. So instead I will show you a new piece I made! I am also promising to be more proactive about posting since I have more work to show in the next week!! YAYAYA! I love whoever reads this.

This is the first in a line of pieces I'm doing made from shredded strips of paper. The whole inside of the body is glued strips of shredded poster paper. I like the idea of adding information and complication to the original piece of paper by shredding it and recomposing it. Spacing is used to add the lines and marks, rather than mediums.

Altered Silhouette - 44"x30" - Spray paint, india ink, and shredded poster board on paper.

Varying states of unsure.

I am leaving for the mid west! I am going for 2 weeks. I am taking trains. I am visiting great people. I am excited. That is an understatement.

I thought I would leave you with some unsure pictures of some unsure things. I am a planner by nature, but I have made it a point to not over plan most of the drawings I've been making. I let them evolve, therefore I become unsure. I also RUN OUT of drawing materials, halting production. Here are two in-progress pieces.

Quoting television. Look at the larger scale version of this one.
I put the frame around a house, but the house continues on outside of it's confines. I obviously had to also draw scaffolding to hold the frame up! Physics people, physics.

Anyway, I will make small drawings while on the tracks of the midwest. Happy trails!
